DEC nabs six for drug trafficking
The Drug Enforcement Commission -DEC- has apprehended a Tanzanian national and several others for trafficking in cannabis and cocaine.
The Tanzanian national, identified as ALLY OMARY HASSAN, aged 48, was picked from Chirundu, for trafficking in 10 kilograms of high-grade cannabis.
DEC Spokesperson, ALLAN TAMBA has confirmed the arrests, saying the Tanzanian national had concealed the cannabis in stereo speakers aboard a named bus service from South Africa.
In the Eastern province, at Chanida border, Mr TAMBA says the commission has apprehended KUMUZINGA PHIRI, aged 47, for trafficking in cannabis weighing over 28 kilograms.
And in Nyimba, the commission has apprehended DAVID ZULU, aged 36, for trafficking in 23 kilograms of cannabis and SHADRECK MWANZA, aged 44, for trafficking in 9 kilograms of dry loose cannabis.
Meanwhile, in Kasempa, North-Western province, the commission has apprehended NOMAI SITALI, aged 50, and ASTRIDAH MUSANA, aged 44, for possession of 0.48 grams of suspected cocaine.
