Copper Princesses net 3 past Botswana
The Copper Princesses have started their COSAFA U-17 women’s Championship journey on a high note with a convincing 3-nil victory over Botswana in Johannesburg.
MERCY CHIPASULA opened the scoring in the 36th minute with a clinical finish, giving Zambia a deserved lead heading into halftime.
NATASHA NKAKA doubled the advantage in the 64th minute, before substitute HELLEN BANDA sealed the win with a late goal in the 90th minute.
The result sees Zambia collect maximum points in their opening match, putting them in a strong position in the group stage.
The Copper Princesses will now shift their attention to their next match against Zimbabwe, scheduled for this Sunday.
