“Zambia is committed to maximizing its essential minerals”

Mines and Mineral Development Minister PAUL KABUSWE says Zambia is committed to maximizing its essential minerals for renewable energy technologies.
Speaking during the 2024 EU Raw Materials Week in Brussels, Mr KABUSWE said the country’s developmental agenda, guided by Vision 2030, positions the mining sector as a key driver of sustainable economic growth.
He added that Zambia is working on creating a Minerals Commission to regulate and profile the country’s mining sector which will provide information to potential investors.
Mr KABUSWE said the country is committed to environmental stewardship, balancing economic growth with ecological preservation.
Meanwhile, European Commission Director General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs KERSTIN JORNA has emphasized the importance of implementing strategic partnerships to diversify the raw materials market in partner countries.
And Director General, International Partnerships KOEN DOENS said it is essential for the EU to develop partnerships which promote a win-win outcome in the partnerships.
