Mkushi toll gate to resume operations

The National Road Fund Agency -NRFA- says the GEORGE KUNDA Toll gate in Mkushi will resume operations this week after a two-week suspension following an accident that happened on November 30 , 2024.
NRFA Public Relations Manager ALPHONSIUS HAMACHILA says the agency has suffered significant revenue losses, resulting from the accident which left the toll gate damaged to operate.
Mr. HAMACHILA added that the truck driver, HENRY MUSARIRI, aged 49, who caused the accident, has received a three year jail sentence and fined 140,000 Kwacha, for dangerous driving, by the Mkushi magistrate court.
He said the toll collector who sustained injuries is out of danger and has since been discharged from the hospital.
Mr. HAMACHILA has urged road users to observe traffic rules to avoid accidents.
