By Hannock Kasama
Chief Justice Mumba Malila has advised newly admitted lawyers not to succumb to the temptation of publicly attacking judges.
Dr. Malila warned that lawyers who engage in unwarranted public attacks on judges risk damaging their professional reputations and careers.
He also urged lawyers to uphold professional ethics in their various assignments and legal representations.
Dr. Malila made these remarks today in Lusaka during the admission of new lawyers to the bar, following the April 2024 Repeaters Legal Practitioners Qualifying Examination.
At the same event, Zambia Institute of Advanced Legal Education (ZIALE) Acting Director Leah Ngulube announced that 398 candidates passed the April 2024 Repeaters Qualifying Examinations.
This is out of the 959 candidates who sat for the exams, representing a 41 percent pass rate.
