Mtolo commissions water projects in Chipata Central

Chipata Central MP, Reuben Mtolo, has commissioned water projects at Umodzi and Kauzu primary schools in Chipata Central, Eastern Province.

The Umodzi Primary School water project is worth 280,000 Kwacha, while the Kauzu water system cost over 900,000 Kwacha.

The projects have been funded under the 2023 and 2024 CDF.

Speaking during the commissioning, Mr. Mtolo, who is also Agriculture Minister, said water reticulation in schools is a presidential initiative aimed at providing a conducive learning environment for pupils.

Umodzi Primary School Headteacher, Elton Lubinga, expressed gratitude to the government for providing water at the school.

He said the school has been experiencing water problems, and at times lessons were being suspended due to the challenge.
