“Celebrate the festive season responsibly”
By Blessings Chibuye
The government has urged the public to celebrate the festive season responsibly to prevent any loss of lives.
Home Affairs Minister, Jack Mwiimbu, has called on road users to exercise caution and avoid reckless behavior on the roads.
Speaking to ZNBC News in Monze District, Mr. Mwiimbu directed the traffic police and the Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA) to work diligently and effectively to curb reckless driving during the holiday season.
He also warned traffic officers against abusing their authority or engaging in corrupt practices, such as soliciting bribes from motorists.
Mr. Mwiimbu said all officers on duty must wear name tags to allow the public to report cases of misconduct for appropriate action.
He further advised members of the public to refrain from offering bribes to officers, underscoring the need for mutual accountability and respect for the law.
