CB has 6,424 inmates

Kamfinsa Correctional Officer Commanding Cornwell Mudenda says there are over 6,424 inmates in facilities on the Copperbelt.
Speaking when he presented a report to Justice Alice Sitali during the official opening of the Kitwe Criminal Session, Mr. Mudenda said Kamfinsa has 3,874 male inmates while 80 are females.
Mr. Mudenda disclosed that Chingola has 376 inmates, while Kasenshi in Ndola has 485, with 332 at the remand.
Meanwhile, Kitwe Criminal Session Judge Alice Sitali has urged Zambians to utilize alternative dispute resolution mechanisms that have been put in place by the Judiciary.
Justice Sitali said alternative dispute resolution mechanisms can be explored to enhance the quick disposal of cases.
Speaking at the same event, Law Association of Zambia Representative Elijah Banda said the High Court plays a pivotal role in ensuring justice is not only done but is seen to be done.
Kitwe Mayor Mwaya Mpasa called on stakeholders to collaborate to ensure that justice is delivered efficiently and effectively.
