Petauke Central Candidates agree to campaign schedule

All seven candidates taking part in the Petauke Central Constituency Parliamentary by-election have agreed to the stipulated campaign timetable proposed by the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ).
The candidates have committed to peaceful campaigns.
While addressing the candidates and political party representatives during a meeting in Petauke today, ECZ Elections Manager Winner Mwanamonga called for a proper communication system among all stakeholders.
ECZ Provincial Electoral Officer Alex Bwalya stated that the candidates and political parties should ensure harmony in the way they conduct their campaigns.
The meeting was called by the ECZ as part of their continued consultation and collaboration with stakeholders in the electoral process.
The Petauke Central Constituency Parliamentary by-election has seven candidates vying for the seat on February 6, 2025.
They include Severian Lungu of the UPND, Joshua Tembo of the Leadership Movement, Simon Banda of the New Congress Party, Carlos Chama of Citizens First, and Julius Mwale of the Socialist Party.
Others are Moses Phiri of the Democratic Union and independent candidate Nkole Mutale.
