Congo DR causes hundreds of trucks to be marooned in Chambeshi and Chingola
Hundreds of trucks are marooned in Chambeshi and Chingola on the Copperbelt Province.
Commerce and Trade Minister CHIPOKA MULENGA and Copperbelt Minister ELISHA MATAMBO have attributed the congestion to delayed clearing of trucks on the Congolese side.
The trucks are en-route to the Democratic Republic of Congo – DRC – through Kasumbalesa.
Some of the drivers have disclosed that they have been parked for days.
Mr. MULENGA told ZNBC News that government has engaged Ministers of Commerce in the SADC Region over the marooning of hundreds of foreign trucks enroute to the DRC in Chingola and Chambeshi on the Copperbelt .
He said the situation cannot be tolerated anymore.
