Police Launch Manhunt for Suspect in Novera Mall Fatal Assault

Police in Lusaka have launched a manhunt for a man accused of assaulting and killing his friend at Novera Mall on the Great North Road last month.

The incident happened after the two friends got into a heated argument following a drinking session.

Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga has confirmed that investigations into the matter are ongoing, but the suspect, Scott Katayi, is still on the run.

The victim, identified as Beston Mwalubemba, 40, has since been buried.

ZNBC News has obtained Close Circuit Television (CCTV) footage depicting what appears to be two men in a heated argument, which results in one of them being slapped and falling to the ground.

The news crew has also spoken to the deceased’s widow, Edina Zulu, who is calling for the quick capture of her husband’s suspected killer.
