Govt to Support Zambia Railways in Copper Transportation Efforts

Copperbelt Province Minister, Elisha Matambo, says Zambia Railways Limited is an important player in the transportation of the projected three million tonnes of copper.

Mr. Matambo says the revamping of the mining sector in the province calls for Zambia Railways to be part of the transportation of copper.

He says the government will support the firm as it is a major player in achieving the intended tonnes of copper production in the country.

Newly appointed Zambia Railways Managing Director, Cuthbert Malindi, said the company will work according to the government’s agenda.

Mr. Malindi said he is aware of the challenges within Zambia Railways
