Government Disburses Over 700 Million Kwacha for School Grants

The government has disbursed over 700 million kwacha for school grants for the first term of 2025.

Ministry of Education Assistant Director and Head of Communication, Kunda Mando, stated that the grants were signed off last week and the money has reached all school accounts today.

Ms. Mando mentioned that over 300 million kwacha has been allocated to secondary schools, while 200 million kwacha is designated for primary schools.

She added that 200 million kwacha is allocated to Colleges of Education and the District Education Boards.

Ms. Mando emphasized that no pupils should be charged any amount in government schools because the government has taken up the responsibility.
