Luwingu Man Takes His Life After Marital Dispute
(ZANIS)A 21-year-old man has committed suicide in Luwingu District, Northern Province, following a marital dispute.
Misheck Mwansa, of Nachilinde Village in Chief Chipalo’s area, is believed to have killed himself on Saturday, January 11, 2025, around 20:00 hours.
Northern Province Police Commanding Officer, Lucky Munkondya, has confirmed the incident.
Ms. Munkondya says Mwansa hanged himself using a chitenge material in his bedroom after a misunderstanding with his wife.
She says police have established that after coming from a drinking spree, Mwansa picked a fight with his wife, during which he told her he would kill her and later kill himself as well.
Fearing for her life, Mwansa’s wife left and stayed with relatives for the night.
Ms. Munkondya has explained that after returning home the following day around 06:00 hours, the wife discovered her husband’s body.
