Syakalima Launches Competence Based Curriculum
Education Minister, DOUGLAS SYAKALIMA has launched the Competence Based Curriculum -CBC- training for teachers.
Speaking during the launch, Mr. SYAKALIMA said the curriculum bridges the gap between education and industry players, fosters lifelong learning, promotes STEM education, and positions Zambia to compete globally.
Mr. SYAKALIMA said Competence Based Curriculum is more than a reform as it directly supports the nation’s aspirations for sustainable development and social equity.
He said the Education Curriculum is a critical component of the 8th National Development Plan, which places human capital development at the heart of the national agenda.
The training is targeting teachers who will handle form one’s, Early Childhood Education and Grade One’s.
