UCZ Celebrates Diamond Jubilee with Government Support

President Hakainde Hichilema has praised the United Church of Zambia (UCZ) for promoting unity during its 60 years of existence.

President Hichilema says the Church has also been able to choose its leaders in a more unifying and peaceful manner. He added that his government will support the investment projects of the United Church of Zambia.

This was in a speech read on his behalf by Commerce and Trade Minister Chipoka Mulenga during the celebration of the church’s Diamond Jubilee in Kitwe.

During the celebrations, President Hichilema also pledged 250,000 kwacha towards the completion of the UCZ Mindolo presbytery building.

Meanwhile, United Church of Zambia Synod Bishop Festus Chulu said that in its 60 years of existence, the Church has been providing guidance to the nation.

And United Church of Zambia General Secretary Reverend Chipasha Musaba said the Church has collaborated with the government on many projects that are meant to benefit the people.
