President HICHILEMA commits to zero tolerance to corruption

President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA has recommitted to the fight against corruption in 2025, with the recovery of assets continuing.
President HICHILEMA says government will also apply alternative dispute resolution mechanisms in fighting corruption within the law.
He said this in Lusaka today at the Presidential Annual Greeting of the diplomatic corps for 2025.
Meanwhile President HICHILEMA paid tribute to the global community for the support rendered to Zambia in addressing the drought crisis and debt restructuring process in 2024.
He also called on the African community to turn a new page in 2025 by embracing joint investments, saying there is no need to work in isolation.
President HICHILEMA acknowledged that 2024 was characterised by a lot of extraordinary issues but with resilience, the country managed to make a lot of progress.
He said the government’s path to reconstruct the economy despite the challenges from the drought was successful.
President HICHILEMA said this was made possible by the support of the global community.
He also expressed concern with the instability in some parts of the world like Palestine, West Africa, Eastern DRC and Mozambique, calling for dialogue as the only solution.
And Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister MULAMBO HAIMBE said the support of the diplomatic community reflects the collaborative spirit that underlies diplomatic relations in fostering positive partnerships.
Mr. HAIMBE reaffirmed Zambia’s shared commitment to building a brighter future for the benefit of the people.
And Dean of the Diplomatic Corps WALID HASSAN praised Zambia for demonstrating exceptional leadership in addressing the effects of the drought crisis.
Dr. Hassan cited the revising of the 2024 budget towards humanitarian relief, progress in economic stability and agricultural resilience.
He also praised the good governance record and measures to fight corruption put in place by the Zambian government.
