Plan retirement early, ZNBC tells employees
By Patricia Banda
ZNBC has urged its employees to plan adequately for retirement so that they do not become destitute in future.
Director Human Resources and Administration, MAXWELL PHIRI notes that it is worrying that some retirees go into depression when their package is not well spent.
Dr. PHIRI says it is important to begin saving money and be able to purchase properties such as land before retirement.
He was speaking during a financial literacy training programme held for ZNBC employees at the Mass Media Complex.
And Dr. PHIRI disclosed that ZNBC Management will be holding such trainings from time to time whenever resources are available so that employees can learn skills of how they should prepare for retirement.
Meanwhile, an Enterprise Evolution Expert has called for financial discipline if employees are to manage their finances well.
PATRICK SHATAMUKA, who was retired at the age of 34 from Zambia Railways in 2001, advised employees to lead a lifestyle that is affordable in order to save money and avoid incurring debts.
Mr. SHATAMUKA advised employees that with financial discipline, it is possible to venture into any small business that could be successful.
