Zambian strikers must sharpen finishing – MALITOLI
By Jack Ng’uni
Former national team player KENNETH MALITOLI has urged Zambian Super League strikers to sharpen goal-scoring prowess
MALITOLI told ZNBC News that strikers in the Zambian MTN Super League have struggled to reach the 20-goal mark in the past five years with IDRIS MBOMBO being the last player to achieve the feat, during the 2018/19 season.
He says strikers are not clinical enough in front of goal.
MALITOLI said teams should formulate training programmes for strikers to improve their scoring abilities and assign coaches specifically to work with them.
And 2012 Africa Cup of Nations -AFCON- winner and former striker, CLIFFORD MULENGA, has expressed disappointment with the recent form of strikers in the MTN Super League.
MULENGA has urged current strikers to practice and work hard on developing a strong mentality in front of goal.
Meanwhile, 1982 league top scorer, PETER KAUMBA, said players lack proper development and guidance, which contributes to their poor performance.
