Japan commits to key projects in Zambia

The Japanese Government has committed to effectively implement ongoing projects in Zambia’s health, agriculture and education sectors.
Japanese Embassy in Zambia Deputy Chief of Mission, SATOSHI OMINATO was speaking before a media tour of various Japanese-funded projects, including the Zambia National Public Health Reference Laboratory -ZNPHRL-in Lusaka.
Meanwhile, ZNPHRL Director KUNDA MUSONDA said Japan’s assistance has improved the country’s laboratory network and quality management systems, which is helpful in meeting international standards.
Dr. MUSONDA said the training provided to professionals by the Japanese Government has also strengthened their ability to operate advanced diagnostic equipment.
And Japanese International Co-operation Agency -JICA- Chief Advisor, TADATSUGA IMMARURA, assured that Japanese experts will continue working with Zambian scientists to improve laboratory operations and support the fight against infectious diseases.
He expressed hope for continued collaboration to further strengthen Zambia’s public health response.
