HELSB awards loans to 2,094 university students

The Higher Education Loans and Scholarships Board -HELSB- has awarded additional student loans to 2,094 eligible students across four universities.
HELSB Manager Corporate Communication and Customer Services CHISELWA KAWANDA says 1,708 scholarships have been given to the University of Zambia.
Ms. KAWANDA says the loans have been given to first year students who appealed for consideration after they were not considered in the initial first award under the 2024/2025 academic year.
She says 217 scholarships have been given to UNZA Ridgeway Campus after third year medical students cleared their repeat courses.
Ms. KAWANDA says this brings the total number of students awarded student loans at UNZA to 5,036 for the 2024 – 2025 academic year.
