NAPSA registers 1,500 artists
The National Pension Scheme Authority -NAPSA has registered over 1,500 artists under the social security scheme since 2023.
This follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding -MoU- between NAPSA and the National Arts Council (NAC) in 2023.
NAPSA Coverage Manager, KALABA MWIMBA told ZNBC News that the MoU aligns with the government’s vision to empower citizens and alleviate poverty.
Mr. MWIMBA says the social security benefits include long-term old age pensions, survivors’ and invalidity pensions, as well as short-term benefits such as maternity and family funeral grants.
And National Arts Council -NAC Director MAANKA CHIPINDI has urged artists to register with the NAPSA so that their lives are secured.
