Paramount Chief Mpezeni Applauds Government’s Drought Relief Programs
By Memory Bbuku
Paramount Chief Mpezeni has applauded the government for implementing social programs to cushion the impact of the drought that the country experienced last year.
He says many people in his chiefdom have benefitted from social programs such as the cash-for-work initiative and the expansion of the social cash transfer program.
The Paramount Chief made these remarks when Local Government and Rural Development Minister Gary Nkombo, in the company of Tourism Minister Rodney Sikumba and Transport and Logistics Minister Frank Tayali, paid a courtesy call on him.
Meanwhile, Mr. Nkombo said the government remains committed to ensuring that no one dies of hunger despite the natural disaster the country experienced.
Mr. Nkombo assured the Chief of the equal distribution of resources to benefit all citizens.
