
President HICHILEMA hails late Chief KAMBOMBO’s legacy

President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA says the late Senior Chief KAMBOMBO of the Senga People in Chama District was a champion of development and the wellbeing of his people.
President HICHILEMA says the Senior Chief was steadfast in offering counsel to him and the Government on developmental needs anchored on peace and unity.
The Head of State says he shared many values with the late Chief, including peace, unity, and cultural preservation.
He recalls learning valuable lessons from the Senior Chief even before assuming the Presidency.
The President, has described Senior Chief KAMBOMBO as a respected traditional leader whose selfless leadership was focused on progressive ideals such as the free education policy.
He conveyed the remarks in a speech read on his behalf by Local Government and Rural Development Minister GARY NKOMBO at the burial of Senior Chief KAMBOMBO in Chama District.
Meanwhile, speaking at the same event, Special Assistant to the President for Political Affairs LEVY NGOMA described the late Chief as a development-oriented leader.
Mr. NGOMA said Senior Chief KAMBOMBO was a visionary who championed development in his Chiefdom and Chama District.
And Eastern Province Minister PETER PHIRI said President HICHILEMA is committed to delivering development to the people of KAMBOMBO, citing frequent references to the area in his public addresses.
UPND Secretary General BATUKE IMENDA said the late Chief was inclusive, stating that he welcomed everyone regardless of political or ethnic background.
And Speaking on behalf of the family, Headman MWINEMUKONDE expressed gratitude to the Government for its logistical support during the funeral.
Senior Chief KAMBOMBO was installed in 2015.
