
Mutati Calls for Collective Action in E-Waste Management

Technology and Science Minister, Felix Mutati, says there is a need for collective action to address the challenges of electronic waste management.
Mr. Mutati says electronic waste is a valuable product that requires responsible management.
He has also acknowledged the potential economic benefits of electronic waste management.
Ministry of Technology and Science Director of Communications, Nkula Mwanza made the remarks on behalf of Mr Mutati during the Electronic Waste Workshop in Lusaka today.
And ZICTA Director General, Collins Mbulo, noted that electronic waste is one of the fastest-growing wastes in the world, with Zambia generating approximately 6,000 tonnes of electronic waste per year.
Mr. Mbulo said there is a need for responsible disposal of electrical and electronic items, highlighting the serious environmental and health consequences of improper disposal.
