Zambia’s Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) team delivered a strong performance at the Impact Fighting Championship in Lubumbashi, with Prince Tafuna and Miracle Chipito claiming gold medals in their respective bouts.
Tafuna secured victory by split decision in a hard-fought contest against Ken Saleh, while Chipito dominated Sergine Biluta to win by unanimous decision.
Meanwhile, Zambia Mixed Martial Arts President, Benjamin Bush, has praised the team’s efforts.
Batista Mende put up a tough fight but fell short against Africa’s top-ranked amateur lightweight, Jeremie Likobele.
Abraham Banda displayed strong striking skills but was submitted in the third round, while Elisha Lukungu lost after an early kick from his opponent.
Pethias Mwanza and Lucky Kapenda were unable to compete due to weigh-in complications.
