Kitwe assured that water is safe for consumption

The National Water Supply and Sanitation Council (NWASCO) has assured residents of Kitwe that the water being supplied to them is safe for consumption.

NWASCO Director-General Kelvin Chitumbo told ZNBC News that the water meets the required standards for public consumption.

Speaking in Lusaka yesterday, Mr. Chitumbo assured the public that the authority, in collaboration with its partners, will continue to monitor the situation and address any emerging issues promptly.

Meanwhile, Nkana Water Supply and Sanitation Company has resumed operations at the Bulangililo Water Treatment Plant, which was shut down following contamination of the Kafue River.
