“John General suggested sex to congregant with miscarriages”

The Lusaka Magistrate Court today heard how clergyman John Nundwe allegedly suggested having sex with a female congregant after she consulted him over her miscarriages.
This was after the woman complained to Bishop Nundwe, commonly known as John General, that the anointing oil he gave her was not working.
The woman, who appeared as a witness, also told Magistrate Amy Masoja that the bishop told her she would testify in church like others if she had sexual intercourse with him.
The witness, who also alleged that she was raped by Bishop Nundwe, testified that she was startled to find him naked in one of the bedrooms at her house when he was invited to conduct prayers.
In this matter, Bishop Nundwe, of Miracle Impact Ministries International in Lusaka’s Matero area, is accused of raping one of his church members, who is married, in November 2023.
