President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA says government is concerned with the increase in the number of youths abusing alcohol and other substances in the country.
President HICHILEMA says this is why government is working with stakeholders in sensitising young people on the dangers of the vice.
The Head of State said this today in his address to the National Assembly on the progress made in the application of national values and principles.
And President HICHILEMA said government is concerned with the number of people obtaining the Constituency Development Fund -CDF- and the Citizens Economic Empowerment Commission -CEEC- loans without paying back.
He explained that the loans, which are a form of empowerment, are meant to be a revolving fund, intended to empower several other beneficiaries.
President HICHILEMA stated that failure to pay back the loans disadvantages others, who are also eager to benefit from the same funds.
He added that Zambians must also realise that national development is a long journey, meant to make the country a better place and that it requires determination and passion from everyone.
President HICHILEMA said Zambians must therefore continue to work hard, because government, on its part is creating the foundation for prosperity.
