Sino Metals Apologizes for Environmental Pollution

Sino Metals Leach Zambia has apologised to President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA and the people of Zambia for polluting the environment following the collapse of tailings dam at the mine.

CHAIRMAN of Sino Metals Leach Zambia ZHANG PEIWEN says the incident has had a significant impact on the environment and local communities.

Speaking when Water Development Minister COLLINS NZOVU visited the firm in Chambeshi, Mr. ZHANG said the company has taken immediate measures to control the damage.

AND Mr. NZOVU has called for speedy implementation of measures that will help in containing pollution caused by the collapse of Tailings Dam at Sino Metals Leach Zambia mine.

Earlier, Sino metals leach Zambia Limited Deputy Chief Executive Officer MARTIN HAMUKUSANA disclosed that the firm will ensure thorough cleanup of the Kafue River.
