ZAF Commander Advocates Golf for Discipline and Unity
By Mike Mwendachabe
Zambia Air Force (ZAF) Commander Lieutenant General Oscar Nyoni has encouraged men and women in uniform to participate in sports such as golf as they build discipline and unity.
Lieutenant General Nyoni says golf also builds strong bonds among people as it requires players to be together on the course for a long time.
The ZAF Commander says the sport encourages teamwork and oneness, values that are cherished in the military.
Lieutenant General Nyoni said this at Chainama Hills Golf Club when he officiated at the prize-giving ceremony of a golf tournament, which was part of ZAF Day celebrations.
Red Arrows Golf Club Chairman Colonel Sydney Sichimata said the tournament promotes discipline and sportsmanship.
The Zambia Air Force Day golf tournament has become an annual event aimed at promoting unity and sportsmanship among ZAF personnel and their families.
