By Lucky Phiri
A 38-year-old man from Lusaka’s Ng’ombe Compound has urged people to adopt charcoal briquettes as an alternative source of energy.
Joe Malembeka says charcoal briquettes are environmentally friendly compared to traditional charcoal.
He told ZNBC News that more people are beginning to understand that briquettes are a cheaper and more sustainable option.
Mr. Malembeka has called for a mindset shift among citizens, encouraging them to embrace alternative energy sources to help combat climate change.
He says the demand for briquettes has risen, a sign that people are recognizing their benefits as an energy source.
Mr. Malembeka adds that a switch from charcoal to briquettes can significantly reduce deforestation.
Mr. Malembeka has since appealed for assistance to help him expand his briquettes business to reach more people.
