Armed Criminals Attack and Rob Truck Driver on Kafue-Chirundu Road

A truck driver has been attacked by armed criminals on the Kafue-Chirundu road, who have also robbed him of his personal valuable items.

The attack took place yesterday, Sunday, March 2, at about 15:30 hours, around the Mulyakapoka area.

Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga has confirmed and identified the victim as John Samakayi, aged 55, who was driving a SHACMAN tanker truck.

Mr. Hamoonga explained that the three criminals, who were armed with iron bars, forced the truck to stop, before robbing the driver of an Infinix phone, personal clothes, and food, all valued at over six thousand kwacha.

He added that investigations into the matter are ongoing, and no arrests have been made so far.

Meanwhile, Mr. Hamoonga says police have intensified patrols in the area in order to enhance security for motorists, particularly truck drivers using this route.
