Hired killers paid K5, 000 to murder Businessman

Three suspects have been arrested in Kalomo, Southern province, in connection with the shooting to death of a businessman on February 28, 2025.

The suspects were allegedly hired by an unknown person and paid 5,000 kwacha to kill WINTER HAMUNDYOLI, aged 56, of Maboboli village in Chief SIACHITEMA’s area.

Mr. HAMUNDYOLI was killed with a shot-gun on the material day around 20:00 hours, as he was driving his truck.

Southern Province Police Commanding Officer, AUXENSIO DAKA has confirmed the arrest of LEVY MASAMBA and his brother, SOVIET, aged 47, as well as TALENT SIAMALA, aged 35, all of Maboboli village.

Mr. DAKA explained that investigations have revealed that after the suspects were paid, they shared the money among themselves.

He said LEVY MASAMBA received K2, 000, while his brother, SOVIET MASAMBA and TALENT SIAMALA received K1, 500 each.

Mr. DAKA added that the suspects also led the police to recover the firearm used in the murder, which was borrowed from a named person, and had been hidden in a dugout hole in the bush.

He further said that investigations have been intensified in the matter.
