Kamanga aims to Make FAZ Financially Independent
By White Luhanga
Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) President, Andrew Kamanga says his goal is to establish a financially independent FAZ by 2029, should he be re-elected for the 2025-2029 term.
Kamanga made the remarks during a press briefing where he officially launched his campaign for the FAZ Presidential race, presenting his manifesto titled “Promises Kept and Stability Assured 2025-2029.”
He emphasized that, having laid a solid foundation for sports during his eight years in office, his focus now is to bring trophies to Zambia.
Kamanga acknowledged that the past eight years have been marked by numerous challenges as he worked to establish short-term, mid-term, and long-term strategies for Zambian football. He noted that during his tenure, several teams qualified for major tournaments such as the Confederation of African Football (CAF), the Olympics, and the World Cup.
He expressed confidence that the groundwork has been laid and more trophies will soon be brought to Zambia. Kamanga stressed his commitment to not only ensuring teams qualify for tournaments but also achieve success by winning titles.
He further remarked that apart from copper, football is what Zambia is best known for, both within Africa and internationally.
Kamanga also expressed gratitude to the government for its financial support of sports development in Zambia.
