
Power Supply to Increase from 3hrs to 7 hrs Daily

Zambia is gradually increasing power generation at hydro power stations owing to the increase in water levels.
The country is currently generating 1,555 megawatts of power from its hydro power plants.
Ministry of Energy Permanent Secretary in charge of Electricity ARNOLD SIMWABA says due to the increase in power generation, the hours of power supply have also increased from the 3 hours to about 7 hours daily.
He told ZNBC News that Government and ZESCO will continue to monitor the water levels.
Meanwhile, Mr SIMWABA also disclosed that government has reduced on importation of power.
He also said Government has also reduced exporting of power to neighbouring countries.
