Police Probe Car Fire Murder
Police is investigating a case in which person has been burnt to death inside a vehicle on Sheki-Sheki road in Lusaka’s Emmasdale area.
The incident reported by a concerned resident in the area is believed to have happened last night, between 19:30 hours and 21:10 hours.
The body of the deceased, which was found trapped in the driver seat, with the hands and legs tied together using a wire, was burnt beyond recognition.
Police Spokesperson, RAE HAMOONGA has confirmed the incident, which is being treated as a case of murder adding that investigations have ensued.
Mr HAMOONGA has further identified the vehicle, in which the body was found as a Silver Toyota Corolla, registration number ACX 6276, whose owner is unknown.
He has appealed to members of the general public to help police with information on the deceased.
