Father arrested for sexually abusing 7-year-old daughter

A 47-year-old man, has been arrested for allegedly sexually abusing his 7-year-old daughter while nursing her at the Cancer Diseases Hospital –CDH- in Lusaka.

Police received a report on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at 15:41 hours from SANDRA NDHLOVU, a social officer, who was alerted by other caregivers about the suspect’s suspicious behaviour.

It was observed that the suspect frequently bathed his daughter late at night, with the child crying excessively and the water left running.

He was also seen bathing naked with his daughter, raising further suspicion.

Hospital staff conducted a medical examination and confirmed fresh injuries on the child’s private parts.

Police officers responded swiftly, issued a medical report, and arrested the man, who has since been formally charged with incest and remains in custody.

He is expected to appear in court soon.
