
Zambia Praises Turkish investment in Education Sector

Education Minister Douglas Syakalima has praised the Turkish Government for the investments made in the education sector.
Speaking when he officiated at the opening of the international Maarif Schools of Lusaka, Mr Syakalima said Education is the cornerstone of any society hence the need to support it.
He said Government recognizes the support of the Turkish Government through the establishment of three schools and two dormitories in the country.
Meanwhile, Foreign Affairs Minister Mulambo Haimbe said Turkish Maarif foundation embodies the spirit of cooperation and solidarity among nations and cultures.
And, Turkish Ambassador to Zambia Huseyin Barbaros said Maarif Schools in Zambia symbolize solidarity between the two countries.
Meanwhile Turkish Deputy Minister of Education Bilal Macit said their Government will continue to support education in Zambia.
