
Former PS Mushota jailed for 4 years with hard labour

Former Infrastructure Permanent Secretary, Charles Mushota has been jailed for 4 years with hard labour.
This is in a matter where Mr Mushota was found guilty of breaching law and procedure in procurement of a government building by the Lusaka Magistrate Court.
The charges relate to the procurement of Stand Number 237, United Nations Avenue, Longacres, now known as Infrastructure House, which was bought at over 5 million dollars from a private company.
Lusaka Magistrate, Sylvia Munyinya has passed the judgment today, following the closure of the case by the Anti-Corruption Commission -ACC.
Magistrate Munyinya has noted that the prosecution has presented sufficient evidence to convict Mr Mushota beyond reasonable doubt.
