
ERB maintains petrol prices but reduces that of diesel

Energy Regulation Board -ERB- has reduced the pump price of diesel to 30 Kwacha 23 Ngwee per litre from 32 Kwacha 54 Ngwee for the month of April.
ERB- Board Chairperson JAMES BANDA says the pump price for petrol has been maintained at 34 Kwacha 98 Ngwee per litre.
The price of kerosene has also been maintained at 29 Kwacha 56 Ngwee per litre while 29 Kwacha 56 Ngwee, while jet A-1 has also been sustained at 32 Kwacha 51 Ngwee for the month of April.
And, Mr. BANDA says as Open Access tender process takes full effect on April 1st, 2025, premiums on diesel may change on a monthly basis subject to
the competitive bidding process.
He says for the review period of April 2025, a premium of 84 United States Dollars per metric ton was the most competitive from the Open Access tender process.
Mr. BANDA was speaking at a media briefing in Lusaka today.
Meanwhile, Mr. BANDA said ZESCO is this week expected to do a review of the 7 hour power daily power allocation to the public.
He said that the review to adjust the hours will depend in the availability of water in the Kariba dam and the availability of supply from other sources such as Mamba collieries.
