
A fight between co-wives leads to a miscarriage.
Police in Namwala, Southern province, are investigating a case in which a woman is alleged to caused another woman to miscarry a two-months pregnancy.
This is believed to have happened when the two women, who are married to the same man, were fighting on March 23, 2025, at Shamwale village in Chief Mukobela’s area.
Southern Province Police Commanding Officer, Auxensio Daka has confirmed the investigation, and identified the suspect as Anna Mwise, aged 20, and the victim as Alpecious Chilobe, aged 41.
Mr Daka has explained that on the material day, Mwise physically attacked Chilobe, by poking and squeezing her lower abdomen, which resulted in the miscarriage.
He has said according to Chilobe, after the fight she noticed blood coming from her private parts and when she was rushed to the hospital, it was confirmed that she had suffered a miscarriage.
