
5 suspects plead not guilt after being arrested with 69 Elephant Ivory Pieces

Five suspects arrested for being in possession of 69 pieces of elephant ivory have pleaded NOT guilty in the Lusaka Magistrate Court.
The five were arrested on April 12, 2025 for illegally possessing 69 pieces of elephant ivory weighing over 528 kilograms without a license or certificate of ownership from the Director of National Parks and Wildlife.
These are LUHALE ALUMBA a Congolese national, OSEMO WEMBO LUHALE, ALLAN NGWANGWA, PETER MUKANGA and WATSON ZULU of Lusaka
Lusaka Magistrate KAWAMA MWANFULI has adjourned the matter to 7th May for mention and 19th for commencement of trial.
In a related matter, Magistrate MWANFULI has set 20th May 2025 as a day of judgment in a case where a Lusaka clergyman is accused of being in possession a pangolin without the certificate of ownership from the Director of Wildlife and National Parks.
DAVID MUSOKELA is jointly accused with ESTELLA MUSOKELA.
