Bwengwa Gets First Police Station
Government has commissioned the first ever police station in Bweengwa Constituency of Monze district.
Minister of Home Affairs and Internal Security JACK MWIIMBU officially commissioned the facility which has been constructed at a cost of 6 million Kwacha.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony Mr. MWIIMBU said the development signals a major step towards improving law enforcement and ensuring community safety.
The minister expressed gratitude to Chief HAMUSONDE and other traditional leaders for their support, including the donation of land where the police station has been constructed.
He said for decades, the absence of a police station in Bweengwa allowed criminal elements to exploit the area, disrupting the lives and livelihoods of citizens.
Mr. MWIIMBU further urged the local community to work closely with the police by reporting criminal activities and safeguarding the new facility from vandalism.
He warned that destroying public infrastructure not only delays progress but creates safe havens for criminality.
And Inspector of General of Police GRAPHEL MUSAMBA thanked the government for constructing the Bweengwa Police Station and requested for more of such facilities to be constructed countrywide in order to enhance security in communities.
Meanwhile, in a vote of thanks Chief HAMUSONDE commended Government for delivering on their campaign promise of taking development to various parts of the country
