Vubwi Man Molests 13 year old Girl

A 13-year-old girl has been indecently assaulted in Vubwi district, Eastern province, by a man, who initially made her drunk before taking advantage of her.

The suspect, ELIAS PHIRI, is believed to have made the girl take a local beer known as KACHASU, before he started fondling her private parts.

Eastern Province Police Commanding Officer, ROBERTSON MWEEMBA says the incident happened on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, around 16 hours.

Mr MWEEMBA has explained that on the material day the suspect was selling beer while his wife had gone to harvest crops at the field.

He has stated that the suspect then sent the girl to draw water for brewing the KACHASU, and when she finished he gave her some of the beer.

Mr MWEEMBA has added that after she got drunk, the suspect started touching her private parts, and she was only rescued by one of the neighbours after she screened for help.

He has said a docket has been opened while the suspect is on the run.
