
Echo Eight Investments Proposes 5,000 MW Renewable Energy Deployment in Zambia
UK-based Echo Eight Investments Limited has proposed deploying up to 5,000 megawatts of renewable energy within six months of approval in Zambia.
Echo Eight Founder David Green has assured that his company, backed by immediate capital, is ready to install solar, hybrid, and advanced storage systems, featuring patented 3D solar technologies and rooftop wind units.

Mr. Green was speaking at Zambia House in London when he met Energy Minister Makzo Chikote.
Meanwhile, Mr. Chikote has invited Echo Eight Investments Limited to establish clean energy operations in Zambia as part of efforts to attain energy security by December 2025.
He stated that Zambia is in need of investors ready to deliver timely results.
Mr. Chikote noted that Zambia’s long-term energy target is 9,000 megawatts and emphasized the country’s ambition to become a regional power hub through new interconnector projects.
Director of Planning and Information Mwape Chipala said the government is prepared to fast-track processes for credible investors, highlighting that even a gigawatt of power could stabilize the national grid.
Senior Financial Analyst – Petroleum, Allan Mtonga, stressed the importance of innovation and speed.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Head of Mission Lubu Chibwe, Counsellor Economic Kasalika Mulenga, and First Secretary Trade Yvonne Zulu.
