4,000 EP farmers Get Seeds
Over 4,000 small scale farmers in Eastern Province have received certified maize seed ahead of the 2024-2025 farming season.
Provincial Assistant Secretary CLEMENT CHILEMBO handed over the 20 metric tons of seed to the small-scale farmers on behalf of Bayer Zambia and Total Landcare.
Mr Chilembo who was representing Permanent Secretary PAUL THOLE at the event.
Mr Thole said the support is a timely boost to the already constrained efforts by the government.
He however noted that the government will continue supporting initiatives aimed at mitigating the impact of the drought.
Mr THOLE says the government is committed to creating an enabling environment for improving agriculture productivity.
