SADC Ministerial meeting opens in Lusaka

The 26th Ministerial Committee Meeting of the SADC Organ on Politics, Defence, Peace and Security Cooperation has opened in LUSAKA.
Foreign and International Cooperation Minister MULAMBO HAIMBE officially opened the meeting this morning.
Mr. HAIMBE said ZAMBIA is committed to contributing to measures to enhance peace and security in the SADC Region.
He emphasised that peace and security is a pre-requisite to regional integration.
At the same function, SADC Executive Secretary ELIAS MAGOSI called for concerted efforts to stop drug trafficking in the SADC region.
The Committee Meeting of the SADC Organ on Politics, Defence, Peace and Security Cooperation is scheduled to be closed tomorrow.
