UPND wins eight by-elections

The UPND has won EIGHT out of NINE local government by-elections that were held on Friday July 12, 2024 in various parts of the country.
The UPND scooped seats in Nakonde, Kawambwa, Choma, Mufumbwe, Sikongo and Kanchibiya, while an Independent candidate got Chirundu’s Njame ward.
And President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA has commended Zambians and political parties for their peaceful conduct during the just ended by elections.
President HICHILEMA has applauded the people in the respective areas for the peaceful manner they conducted themselves during the campaigns.
He has also congratulated all the political parties for the peaceful campaigns and for participating in the elections.
The President has emphasized the importance of peaceful campaigns if democracy is to flourish.
President HICHILEMA has since congratulated the UPND campaign teams in all the nine wards for the spirited fight.

The nine by-elections were held in Lushiba ward of Kawambwa, Chinama ward of Kanchibiya, Luchinde and Mulalo wards of Nakonde and Kaminzekeseke ward of Mufumbwe.
Others are Njame ward of Chirundu, Mubula ward of Choma, Liumena and Mwenyi wards of Sikongo.
