ZRA, Public Protector forge partnership to protect public funds

The Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) and the Office of the Public Protector Zambia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to combat mal-administration in the public sector.
ZRA Commissioner General DINGANI BANDA says the partnership with the Public Protector is important in addressing taxpayer complaints and grievances.
Mr Banda says this will also result in voluntary tax compliance through an all inclusive and efficient service delivery.
Speaking during the signing ceremony, Mr. BANDA said the collaboration between ZRA and the Public Protector will promote a public service that is accountable, fair and equitable.
Meanwhile, the Public Protector CAROLINE SOKONI said her office has decentralized its operations to provincial capitals which will make it easier to play its part in achieving the objectives of the MoU.
Mrs. SOKONI said her office wants to champion transparency in the public service and will play its part to ensure successful implementation of the MoU.
